Xiaomi smartphones in the Russian Federation began to receive a cool update. He solves a long-standing problem

Xiaomi has decided to replace the MIUI Updater component with Google Updater - this should solve the problem with updates to European versions of smartphones. The Piunikaweb resource told about it.

This is a special component of the Android system that is responsible for receiving updates to the smartphone. Typically, third-party vendors who integrate proprietary shells will replace this system component with their own. So it was with Xiaomi - until now, devices with the MIUI shell on board have been managing updates through the MIUI Updater component. However, it turned out that it works better with Chinese versions of smartphones, while owners of global versions of devices are experiencing difficulties. Now everything has to change.

Smartphones Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 received updates that brought a new Google Updater component to these devices. Now the update screen looks the same as on pure Android - for example, on the Google Pixel. Xiaomi reports that this innovation will improve the situation with the speed of release of further updates, as well as with their availability and download speed in European regions, including in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Xiaomi has already replaced two applications of its own development with standard solutions from Google - this is the MIUI Dialer and Messaging. In the near future, all supported devices of the brand will receive an update with these changes.

Earlier, we said that Xiaomi users created a petition to the company demanding that MIUI be improved for their regions. Perhaps the updates described above were just the answer to these requirements - Xiaomi decided not to spend resources on "finishing" its software, but just take what is already working well.
